Jeju Olle Trail Route 7
Jeju Olle Trail Route 7 (올레길 7코스(서귀포-월평)) is a long-distance, foot-only Olle-gil section on Jeju Island’s south coast, designed to connect Seogwipo with Wolpyeong / the Wolpyeong area. It’s one of the more work-heavy coastal walks on this part of the network, and the route length is commonly planned in the mid-to-high teens (about 13–17.6 km).
Start-side access is typically anchored at the Seogwipo hub, while the route’s other end is commonly given as Wolpyeong (sometimes described with flexibility depending on closures and the exact access point). Plan on roughly 4–6 hours of hiking time depending on your pace and how long you linger in coastal villages and stops along the way.
The route is built around an exposed coastal feel: sections of dramatic volcanic coastline with black basalt rocks and cliffside segments where footing requires attention. Portions also include boardwalk-style stretches that guide you along the shore, then transition back to land for stretches through parks and forested ground.
A standout coastal character comes from iconic Jeju sea-rock scenery—Oedolgae (a prominent sea stack) is commonly treated as a key landmark for Route 7. Along the same overall corridor, Route 7 also passes through the area around Cheonjiyeon / Chilsipnisi Park and reaches cliffside viewpoints and features associated with Hwanguji (natural rock pools at the base of the cliffs).
After the cliff-and-coast stretch, Route 7 continues through a mix of coastal path segments and longer land transitions that skirt along roads, resorts, houses, and wooded sections before reaching Beophwan Port. Beophwan is a practical stop with harborside food and refreshment options and is also known for haenyeo culture in Jeju’s coastal communities.
The coast is the route’s engine, so expect a good share of stairs and uneven rocky sections rather than a gentle boardwalk all the way. If you’re carrying a daypack with snacks or a light layer, Route 7 still behaves like a “real hike”: the walking rhythm is consistent, but foot fatigue can build on the rougher coastal stretches.
