Jug Slab

Jug Slab is a compact sport-climbing crag in Squamish’s Smoke Bluffs, with a very short approach of less than five minutes. The clean face sits directly beside Blind Channel Road; a small bolted slab marks the lower-left side, while a deep gully borders the right.

The seven listed routes are short, ranging from 8 to 14 m, with grades from 5.6 to 5.10c. The climbing is predominantly slab and face work: David’s Sport climbs the face to a short upper seam, Stepladder follows a bolted slab, Moominland runs up the bolted line near the center, and Hamish’s Sport occupies the far-right side before the gully. Robin’s Route is a brief 5.10c on the lower bulge.

Route development includes David’s Sport and Stepladder, established by Jeff Thompson and Glenn Payan in 1996, and Hamish’s Sport, established by the same pair in 1997. Robin’s Route was first climbed by Robin Beech.

Jug Slab lies among residential edges of the Smoke Bluffs. Keep noise low near homes, respect closed cliffs on private land, and use climbing anchors rather than fences, hydro towers, or similar structures.
