Kopac Lodge

Kopac Lodge is a private backcountry hut near the Taranaki bushline in New Zealand, managed by Kahui Outdoor Pursuits and Alpine Club. It’s a compact hut setup with 11 bunks, and it has a wood stove plus cooking and lighting equipment for hut stays.

Use is not open to the general public and the hut is no longer bookable. The closest practical planning is to treat Kopac Lodge as a private-hut option rather than a standard tramping accommodation, and confirm access with the operator well in advance.
