Krack Rock

Krack Rock is a small crag beside the parking area in Squamish’s Smoke Bluffs, with an approach of under five minutes. The cliff contains 17 routes and is predominantly traditional climbing, with listed lines from 5.6 to 5.11a in the US YDS system.

The route selection is mostly single-pitch trad climbing, with individual lines ranging from 10 to 30 m. Easier options include Fairy Ring (5.6), Turkey Dinner (5.7), and The Retiree (5.8); harder routes include Mooshie Corner and Hot Crazy Matrix (both 5.10d), plus Blockheads (5.11a). Gumby is a 5.10c sport route, while Pokey is a 5.10d mixed/trad line with a high first bolt for which a stick clip is recommended.

Krack Rock shares Smoke Bluffs access considerations: some nearby cliffs are closed because they are on private land, and climbers should keep noise down near homes and avoid using fences or hydro towers as anchors.
