La Discotheque
La Discotheque is a sport-climbing sector at Mt. Wells in Greater Victoria, with 15 listed routes. The surrounding area is predominantly sport climbing on basalt, with route coverage from beginner grades through advanced climbing; the La Discotheque sector itself includes climbs from 5.3 to 5.13+ in the available route listings.
Approach Mt. Wells via Humpback Road, continuing roughly five minutes beyond the main hiking parking area to the large pullout near the base of the mountain. Park perpendicular to the road on the left, then follow the worn climbers’ trail uphill. Helmets are required at Mt. Wells because rockfall is a regular occurrence. Preserve established routes by obtaining permission from the first-ascent party before making alterations.
