Millers Hut

Millers Hut is a remote emergency shelter in Victoria’s Alpine National Park, near Lake Tali Karng. Use it as a backcountry stopover when conditions turn severe; most visitors plan to camp outside the hut rather than rely on it for overnight stays.

The hut is simple and designed for very limited sheltering space, with basic toilets located nearby (at the Nyimba Campsite area). It’s free to use and operates on a strict first-come, first-served basis with no booking or permits.

Bring your own drinking water or treat water collected from nearby streams. Campfires should follow local fire rules and are only appropriate in designated fireplaces or fire rings, and you should pack out all rubbish.
