Miner's Ridge Trail
Miner’s Ridge Trail (Trail 785) is a one-way long hike in the Glacier Peak Wilderness, in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The trail is accessed via the Suiattle River Trail and connects to the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT 2000).
From the Suiattle River Trailhead, hike along the Suiattle River Trail to where it intersects the PCT 2000 (at 6.5 miles from the Suiattle River Trailhead). Continue north on the PCT for 2.5 miles to the Miner's Ridge trail junction, then start climbing from the valley bottom.
The route climbs north toward Sunnybrook Camp, where there is a backcountry toilet. From there, Miner's Ridge Trail continues north, switchbacking up 2.3 miles through meadows and forest until it reaches the ridge and another junction.
Key waypoints on the Miner's Ridge Trail include Miners Ridge Lookout to the west at about 6,210 feet, and Image Lake to the east at about 6,050 feet (the PCT junction is roughly 0.7 miles west of Suiattle Pass). The trail traverses hillsides along this higher bench.
If you stay on Miner's Ridge, it continues east along the hillside to Image Lake, then carries on another 1.6 miles beyond Image Lake to reach the remnant of Glacier Peak Mines and the junction with Miners Cabin Trail (Trail 795).
Horses are permitted only on the upper trail section; stock use is regulated, including restrictions on camping/off-trail stock use within the lake basin. Campfires are not allowed in this area, and wilderness regulations apply within the Glacier Peak Wilderness.
Expect a long, backcountry day: this is a long-distance route with a wilderness approach from the Suiattle River Trailhead, and it ends by linking back to the PCT near Suiattle Pass.
