Mount Rynda Cabin

Mount Rynda Cabin is a backcountry A-frame wilderness hut in the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness, managed by the United States Forest Service near Wrangell, Alaska. The cabin is 16' x 16' and sleeps up to 7 people with two single bunks (one with a trundle) and a sleeping loft. Inside you’ll find a wooden table and benches, plus an oil space heater; there’s also a partially covered front porch. The cabin has an outhouse, but there’s no drinking water provided on-site—plan to bring and treat your own water.

Access is by float plane or shallow-draft boat, and a tide of at least 14 feet is required to cross the Stikine River tide flats. Reservations are required, and there is a fee to use the cabin; the nightly rate is about $40. For use, bring bedding and your own cooking gear and stove fuel (No. 1 stove oil), along with lanterns/flashlights and utensils; water and electricity are not provided, and you should pack out trash and clean the cabin before leaving.
