Nesika Lodge
Nesika Lodge is a backcountry alpine hut run by the Trails Club of Oregon on the rim of the Columbia River Gorge. It’s a stone-and-log lodge with day facilities, and it’s reached primarily by trail (with an additional road approach that’s gated).
Overnight and meal stays require reservations. The club’s lodge weekends run from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, with the lodge typically opened by member volunteers who host or cook for scheduled events.
Event types include Hosted (meals provided), Host Only (no meals), and Special Group requests coordinated through the Trails Club of Oregon’s leadership; there’s also an option for incidental, unscheduled visits when the lodge is not in use by another activity. Members can bring up to 5 adult guests plus their associated children to lodge events.
Lodge rules include signing the register even if you don’t stay overnight, no smoking, no intoxicants/marijuana, and no pets or firearms. Food storage isn’t permitted in the dorms, no open flames are allowed in sleeping areas, and users are expected to help with kitchen chores and leave the lodge clean.
As a reservation-based overnight lodge, the club has a structured fee schedule for members and guests (including higher rates for guests and specific meal fees), and cancellation after the registration deadline can require payment for food costs even if you don’t attend. Key access to the gated road is restricted, and if you don’t have a key you’ll need to approach on foot.
