Ney
Mount Ney 2415m Prominence: 1300m Located in the Hazelton Mountains, Tahtsa Range north of Tahtsa Lake. A rocky peak, with scattered glaciers around it. No obvious meadows. Labelled with spot height of 8103 feet on 1:250,000. The usual ascent route is from the Mt Ney trail, which takes off fromlogging roads to the east. Ascent from the south and east sides is not difficult. The steep west side has also been climbed (Peter Holbek Glenn Woodsworth, 1978 ). This is just a scramble. Named after Charles S. Ney, a fine geologist and human being who died in 1975 at the age of 57. Ney worked extensively in western British Columbia and spent some time in the Mt. Ney area. He was president of the Vancouver Natural History Society at the time of his death.
