Pic Champlain Trail
Pic Champlain Trail is a day-hike in Parc national du Bic that runs as a roughly 6–7 km out-and-back and typically takes about 1.5 to 3 hours to complete.
The climb is steady and gradual through forested terrain, building toward a lookout that’s the route’s main payoff.
At the top, you get broad, elevated views out over the St. Lawrence River estuary area—why this hike is repeatedly singled out as a “best views” option in the park.
Use this as a moderate effort route: it’s commonly described as intermediate/moderate, but the payoff is concentrated near the summit/overlook rather than spread evenly across the hike.
Park planning matters for access: Parc national du Bic generally requires a paid daily access fee or an annual Sepaq card to enter.
Seasonal rules can affect who can bring a dog—dogs are only allowed on the trail from May 1 to October 31.
