Planpraz

The Planpraz is a mountain located west of the Chamonix valley and is situated in front of the Brévent in the mountain range of the Aiguilles Rouges, with an elevation of 2000 meters. There are several ski areas on the Planpraz.
You can reach the Planpraz from Chamonix via a cable car. Originally, it was a cable car with concrete pillars, which opened in the 1920s. It was converted into a gondola in 1979, although the concrete pillars remained. In 2008, a complete renovation took place. The section Chamonix-Planpraz was reopened on December 20, 2008. In May 2012, the old pillars of the original cable car were removed. In a second section, a cable car connects the Planpraz with the summit of the Brévent.
