Mountain bike run

Raph is an easy cross-country singletrack at Sentiers du Moulin in Lac-Beauport, Quebec. The line is named after Raphaël Gagné and is meant for beginners to early-intermediate riders, functioning well as a warm-up/transition into the wider SDM network.

The trail is relatively short (about 5.3–6.5 km) and is frequently used to reach more advanced sections such as “Fresno.” In winter, Raph is also available in a fat-bike format, and SDM runs separate seasonal access windows for mountain biking versus fat biking.

Construction history focuses on making the XC ride more approachable: a version dating to 2015 was later reworked in 2022 with a full re-surface/realignment effort aimed at softening grades and improving drainage—so plan to ride it with the expectation of better traction than older, rougher alignments, but still keep an eye on current trail status before you go.

For planning: the SDM tracks-and-conditions page posts daily closures/operating changes driven by rain and other conditions, so treat Raph as a trail where the ride might shift modes or be partly closed after wet weather. For best results, scout the entry and check for any fresh wet spots before rolling in.
