Refuge de la Pointe Percée - Gramusset
Refuge de la Pointe Percée - Gramusset is a backcountry alpine hut run by the Club Alpin Français on the commune of Le Grand-Bornand, at 2164 m. It sits in a very rocky lapiaz environment and is used as a base for approaches to the Pointe Percée (2752 m), the high point of the Aravis.
The hut offers sleeping for up to 45 people. It is generally treated as a guarded hut from mid-June to late September (opening hours: Jun 15 - Sep 30), with an additional winter room. During a stay, plan on bringing a sleeping bag liner (“drap de sac”/sac à viande) and a headlamp; also bring a way to pack out your waste in a plastic bag. Winter and summer access is managed through the hut’s guarded periods.
Reservations are required, and payment is by cash. Showers are available, and there are WC outdoors. Animals are not accepted in guarded or unguarded periods. The hut is also positioned to support activities in the area such as randonnée pédestre, climbing/alpinism, ski-alpinisme, and parapente, with the refuge serving as a common step for people traveling around the Tournette–Aravis massif.
