Refuge de Moëde Anterne

Refuge de Moëde-Anterne is a backcountry alpine hut at 1,996 m in the Fiz massif, facing Mont-Blanc and within the Passy natural reserve. It is operated by Lionel Didier and is open from 07/06 to 01/10 (subject to snow conditions).

The hut has a total of 91 beds across 13 rooms, with spaces including multiple dormitories (4–9 people and 10+ people) and separate rooms. It runs on a summer schedule and supports meal service (including specialties such as fondue and farcement), and it has services like managed self-catering (“gestion libre”) and baggage transfer. Dogs are not allowed in the reserve, and internet access is not provided.

Access is practical via foot from Passy (about 2h15 from the nearest parking), or by car on 4x4 with time restrictions; the car approach is also described from Passy (Chalet du Châtelet) following a road for about 1h30. Approaches on foot are also given from Brévent (descent of about 1,000 m to Pont d’Arlevé, then a 500 m ascent in the alpages; around 3h30 total). The hut is on routes including GR5 and the GRP Chamonix–Sixt–Vallorcine, making it a base for walks such as Lac d’Anterne (about 1h15 with ~255 m of ascent) and the Lac de Pormenaz (about 30 minutes).
