Refuge de Tré la Tête
Refuge de Tré la Tête is a backcountry alpine hut at about 1,970 m overlooking the valley of the Contamines. It’s positioned for day hikers and for people moving along the Tour du Mont Blanc route variants, with a common point of connection toward Refuge des Conscrits.
The hut is run by a resident caretaker (Marielle Tuaz) and is welcoming from 15 March to 15 October, depending on weather. Arrive before 19h to make check-in easier, and specify any dietary restrictions when reserving. Meals are built around half-board for overnight stays (dinner and breakfast), and they also offer midday meals and take-away options.
Sleeping is in either rooms or dormitories, with two bed-style choices offered. The hut focuses on mountain-focused itineraries, including routes accessible from the refuge, and it’s a destination on walking approaches that pass through forests and alpine pastures before reaching the viewpoint above the valley.
