Refuge des Oulettes de Gaube

Refuge des Oulettes de Gaube is a Club Alpin Français backcountry refuge in the Vignemale area at 2151 m. It has bedding for 87 and a total of 95 sleeping places during guarded periods (with 5 dormitories), making it a base for GR10 walkers in summer and for experienced alpinists and randonnée à skis in winter.

The refuge’s guarded season runs from mid-February to September, plus week-ends in October. It is fully closed for major rehabilitation works from August 2025 through the summer of 2026, with no reception, accommodation, or any unstaffed shelter available during that period; no reservations are taken while the works are ongoing. It’s reached via the Gaube valley from the pont d’Espagne.
