Refuge Littoral de Sainte-Lucie
Refuge Littoral de Sainte-Lucie is a backcountry hut on the Île Sainte-Lucie in the Narbonnaise lagoon system, operated by the Conservatoire du Littoral. Access is by foot or bicycle (the estate is reached by reservation), and the refuge is used as an overnight stop for walkers and cyclotourists passing through the area.
The hut has 28 sleeping places across four dormitories of 6 beds and one dormitory of 4 beds. Arrival is from 18:00 and departures are before 16:30, with guests encouraged to bring a sleeping bag, a towel, and personal soap; shower and toilets are provided on site (no wheelchair access). On the reserve, vehicles are not allowed, no fires or barbecues are permitted, smoking is forbidden year-round on the island, and bivouacking (tents) is prohibited.
There are specific rules for dogs on the beach and salt flats (no access from 1 April to 31 July; permitted on leash from 1 August to 31 March), and the general expectations are to avoid picking plants/flowers, avoid removing driftwood, and pack out all waste. The refuge also operates with a timed reception window (08:00–12:30 and 16:30–21:30).
