Roses Hut

Roses Hut is a standard 12-bunk Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the Wānaka area (Otago region), sited on the Mount Soho Station Pastoral Lease and reached from Te Araroa Trail access. It can be busy in summer on the Trail.

Use is first come, first served—no booking is required—but fees still apply. You need to buy a Standard Hut Ticket for each night and place it in the honesty box at the hut (or use a Backcountry Hut Pass that covers most Standard and Serviced huts for a 12-month period). The hut has untreated drinking water, toilets with pit latrine disposal, mattresses, and no fireplace.
