Sandy Creek Hut
Sandy Creek Hut is a remote emergency shelter in the Byadbo Wilderness area of Kosciuszko National Park, Australia, intended for bushwalkers and hikers when you’re far from other accommodation. It’s an unallocated, first-come, first-served refuge rather than a bookable hut.
Access is via a steep Sandy Creek Firetrail after you cross the Snowy River; one commonly used approach point is about 8 km south of the Pinch River bridge. Expect very basic sheltering facilities, and plan on limited nearby water availability depending on season; carrying a tent is also advised in case the hut is already occupied.
