Sar Pass Trail
Sar Pass Trail is a long-distance hiking route in Himachal Pradesh’s Parvati Valley that links Kasol with Barshaini.
The common itinerary runs about 5 days with 4 nights, covering roughly 42 km total; expect an expert-level experience overall.
Route profile changes a lot by day: early walking through Grahan along the Grahan Nallah and forested approaches, then higher camps (Min Thach and Nagaru) before the big push to Sar Pass.
Day 4 is the longest day, with an early-morning start for the snow-covered climb to Sar Pass, followed by descent toward Biskeri Thach.
Typical camps/resupply are by scheduled overnight stops in Grahan, Min Thach, Nagaru, and Biskeri Thach, with the final descent toward Barshaini.
Seasonality matters: the best window is generally April to June (snow and melt conditions vary by year), with planning also guided by colder, higher-altitude conditions near the pass.
