Scotora Trail
Scotora Trail (Le Scotora / Sentier le Scotora) is a day-hike out-and-back in Jacques-Cartier National Park near Stoneham, Quebec, running along the Jacques-Cartier River for an extended first section before it climbs toward Mont Andante.
The route is long for a day outing: about 7.99 km (distance_km) on Outmap, while commonly cited round-trip length is 16.1 km (10 miles). Plan around 5.5–6 hours for the full hike with breaks.
Expect a steady uphill profile as the trail transitions from river travel to higher ground, culminating at a panoramic lookout on Mont Andante.
The trail carries historic significance: it has been used as a path to reach Lake Saint-Jean, including use by First Nations and early Jesuits.
A park access fee applies via Sépaq-managed entry to the national park.
Route management is through Sépaq’s summer trail program in this part of Quebec’s Côte-de-Beaupré region, with the hike keyed to Lac Cook and Le Scotora.
