Hiking route

Sentier Inter-Centre is a long-distance hiking route in Quebec that runs through the Laurentides and Lanaudière, built as a dedicated corridor for nordic cross-country skiing in winter and on-foot hiking during the summer. The route name is used for the same track across these seasons, but the activity rules change with snow.

The trail spans about 17.67 km and is rated easy in this listing. Expect a dirt path surface and a long-distance style route designation (no bicycle use).

Route terrain centers on boreal-forest hiking and backcountry travel between Saint-Donat and Val-des-Lacs, with long-distance walk planning in mind rather than a short loop outing.

You can plan day trips or longer stays by linking through the network’s two refuges: Refuge du Lac de l’Appel and Refuge Le Nordet. These are reserved overnight options rather than free camping, and they sit on the broader Inter-Centre system that the summer hiking follows.

Inter-Centre is used in winter primarily for backcountry skiing; snowshoeing and walking are prohibited on the Inter-Centre track to protect the ski line. The summer footprint, including hiking on the main Inter-Centre corridor, is the activity focus in warmer months.

On the route corridor, there are connections to nearby summits and side options within the broader system—most notably Montagne Noire and Montagne Blanche, plus Montagne Grise in the general area served by the Inter-Centre network.
