Slhanay
Slhanay is a compact granite climbing area on the smaller face north of the Stawamus Chief in Squamish, within Stawamus Chief Provincial Park. The crag is primarily traditional climbing, with 37 routes spanning 5.8 to 5.12c in the US grading system.
The area includes substantial multi-pitch lines. Birds of Prey is one of the more frequently climbed routes, at 5.10b, 180 m, and six pitches; Deep Impact reaches 240 m over seven pitches at 5.11a, while Chickenhawk offers 150 m of climbing over five pitches at 5.11c. Slhanay was adopted as the mountain’s name in 2008, replacing the former name The Squaw; Barbarian Walls is another name used for the climbing area.
