The Constellations

The Constellations is a remote alpine bouldering area on Mount Habrich, above Squamish. The boulders are pink granite with generally solid, well-attached crystals and few fractures, but landings are rough talus and several problems reach highball height.

Reaching the area is a serious undertaking: from the north side of Mount Habrich, the approach involves roughly 2.5 km of steep bushwhacking and about 800 m of elevation gain, taking around three hours uphill and about 2.5 hours down. The terrain includes dense vegetation, cliff bands, loose debris, and exposed sections; carrying a crash pad is particularly demanding. The upper boulder field sits near 1,400 m, where summer temperatures can be considerably cooler than in Squamish. The area has many easy slabs and aretes, while the more compelling climbing is described as technical granite rather than predominantly gymnastic movement.
