The Grid Bouldering

The Grid is a compact bouldering section in the Hunter Creek climbing area near Hope, British Columbia. It sits on a small tier above the Surface Detail wall, with problems focused on thin cracks and edges.

Five problems are documented here: Current of Life (V3), The Grid (V1), Labour of Love (V1), Mondrian (V1), and The Grid Traverse (V1). The Grid starts matched on a horizontal crack and moves up a thin vertical crack; Labour of Love follows a thin finger crack from a matched horizontal ledge.

Current of Life begins on a sloper jug, uses crimps to reach a slopey ledge, and exits up and left. Mondrian is V1 and keeps its full grade when climbed without the left arete. The Grid Traverse also climbs at V1, starting like Mondrian, crossing the horizontal crack, and finishing through The Grid. The documented first ascents for all five problems are credited to Noah Jarvis in 2022.
