The Snooze

The Snooze is a small climbing sector at South Cliff in Mt. Wells, Greater Victoria. The sector has five routes on basalt up to 18 m high, with top-rope and traditional climbing opportunities.

Sunday Snooze is the sector’s moderate trad option, graded 5.9. It follows a short finger crack with interesting finger jams; the line is commonly top-roped, while small nuts and microcams provide protection for a lead. The surrounding South Cliff faces receive noon and afternoon sun, but the basalt dries slowly and remains wet in rain.
