Ward Brook Truck Trail

Ward Brook Truck Trail is an easy, primarily flat Adirondack “truck trail” tread used as a connector route into the Seward Range area of the High Peaks Wilderness. It’s mapped as a ground track with horse use allowed and ski use designated, but it’s not for bicycles.

The tread is wide and stays in a low-elevation character for long stretches, making it a good approach corridor when you’re trying to set up for steeper herd-path hiking deeper into the range.

On longer outings, the trail is commonly used as part of routes that include the Blueberry Trail access to the truck trail network and then continue onward to lean-to camping options in the area (including Ward Brook Lean-to and the nearby “Number Four” lean-tos).

About 4 miles in from the Coreys Road / Blueberry Trail access, Ward Brook Truck Trail is reached, and from there it continues deeper into the Sewards corridor as a relatively smooth route base.

As you go farther beyond the early lean-to area, the character shifts away from the wider “road” feeling toward a narrower, more footpath-like tread where the backcountry feel increases.

Even though the trail is rated easy as a trail itself, it functions mainly as an access/connector: expect that many full itineraries built around it will still involve steep mountain climbs off the truck trail.
