West Fork Teanaway Trail

West Fork Teanaway Trail (#1353, ref TR 1353) is an out-and-back style long-distance hike but mapped as a point-to-point line, running through Washington’s Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The route hugs the West Fork Teanaway River through a deep canyon, with sections that climb high above the water to bypass cliff walls and other canyon obstructions.

Expect a canyon route with multiple river crossings. Most of the walking is on narrow single-track with a gradual grade, then the character shifts near the top into a series of switchbacks as the trail climbs to meet Jolly Mountain Trail (#1307) at the high end.

The main line follows the river corridor and stays tight to the canyon environment, including riparian zone and canyon terrain with open rocky hillsides and ridgetops along the route. A large-old-growth canyon setting and streams are part of the trail’s corridor.

Access is tied to Forest Road 4305-113: the trail begins at FR 4305-113 and ends at Jolly Mountain Trail #1307. The last ~5 miles of the road are winding, rough, and slippery when wet, so plan for vehicle ground clearance and treat wet weather as a factor on approach roads.
