Westview Shelter is a backcountry winter wilderness hut in the Willamette National Forest. It’s a three-sided shelter on the Westview Snow Trail System, used for day warming and occasional overnight stays while you ski or snowshoe the Gold Lake Sno-Park trail network.

Overnight use is first-come, first-served (no reservations), with a maximum stay of 3 nights and a 4-person capacity. It has a wood stove for heating, a wood picnic table, a gravel floor, and a sleeping loft; firewood is stocked by volunteers and should be used sparingly. The shelter is open for overnight stays from November 15 through April 30, and candles are not allowed (bring battery-powered lights).

Approach is about 1 mile from Gold Lake Sno-Park on Highway 58 (access for skiing/snowshoeing depends on snow conditions). Use is free for shelter stays, but an Oregon Sno-Park permit is required during the winter period (November 1 through April 30). Pack out garbage and human waste; there’s no potable water or restroom facilities at the shelter.
