Whispering Pines Trail
Whispering Pines Trail is a short loop hike in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park (Centre Block) near Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. It runs through mature lodgepole pine forest, with occasional aspen groves along the route.
The loop is about 2.0–2.6 km and is generally graded easy to easy-moderate. It’s a good choice when you want a quick trail without long driving or a full-day commitment.
On-trail character centers on interpretive-style signage and a maintained feel, with a park bench placed about halfway through for a rest pause.
The trail’s layout is a loop, with junctions where it interconnects with other Centre Block trails (including a Fire Break Trail connection). The route also crosses small streams within the forest.
Expect the trail to be active for wildlife and birding, with the area known for deer, squirrels, and birds during hiking season.
Most hikers plan it for the April–October window when the trail is seasonally open and accessible.
