Icefall Lodge Tenure Area
Route Details
Icefall Lodge Tenure offers one of the largest and most rugged backcountry skiing zones in the Canadian Rockies, located deep in the northern Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia. With access to over 100 square kilometers of alpine terrain, the tenure features dramatic glaciers, steep couloirs, expansive powder-filled basins, and treeline skiing that stays sheltered in storm cycles. The terrain spans from mellow glacier runs perfect for high-visibility days to complex alpine faces and remote summits ideal for experienced ski mountaineers.
Icefall’s remote location — accessible only by helicopter — ensures untracked snow and a true wilderness experience. Guests are based at Icefall Lodge or one of its remote satellite huts, such as Lyell or Mons, offering week-long hut-based ski touring in a fully self-supported or guided format. With elevations ranging from 1,800 to over 3,400 meters, the area holds deep snowpack well into the spring season and is known for its exceptional snow quality and variety. This tenure is a dream destination for backcountry skiers seeking solitude, challenge, and world-class alpine terrain.
