Gudauri - Lomisi Monastery
Very typical route of Gudauri, it leaves from the church of Saint George and arrives at the church of Lomisi where a very hospitable monk invites you to hot tea, then you can continue to the summit where the summit ridge can complicate the ascent a little depending on the state of the snow and the terrain, ice axe and crampons recommended if we want to make the summit, the descent can be done along the same ascent itinerary, but most likely it will be "cut". We started by going down the south face with a gentle and continuous descent to the west col where we threw ourselves onto the north face along the bottom of the valley on an inclined shovel where we need stable snow and little danger of avalanches, the descent gradually closes until we reach the river, where the terrain continues to be fun until we return to the starting point.
