Attelas - James Blunt

A short cut through off-piste terrain A short cut through a small gully under the Attelas chairlift. Whilst not the most scenic or interesting of lines it still goes through some interesting ski terrain. From the top of the Attelas chair lift follow the line of pylons that head down a wide gully. The small valley opens out above the start of the lift with plenty of space to choose your own line and rejoin the piste. The skiers right branch shown is slightly steeper. Attelas - Ba Combe

A Verbier classic - great mellow skiing from the Col des Mines A Verbier classic. Great skiing under the 'Etablons' down the 'Ba Combe.' Never too steep or serious. From the Col des Mines, traverse high and right under the Etablons to keep as much altitude as possible to reach the ridge under the skier's left hand side of the avalanche barriers. WARNING: Avalanche risk. Cross the ridge and enjoy the good skiing in the 'Ba Bowl' being sure to stay well below the avalanche barriers above you. Ski down to the blue piste on the open slopes (do not ski in the forest - prohibited). Follow the piste down to get back to Carrefour. Written by FATMAP Official

Mont-Fort - South Face - Le Chable

South Face of Mont Fort travelling past the legendary Bec des Rosses This line is the longest run both in distance and vertical in the 4 Valleys. In the right conditions, the skiing down the South Face of Mont Fort is excellent and includes a journey past the legendary Bec des Rosses. You can re-join the ski resort here or continue down, past La Chaux all the way to Le Chable if conditions allow. From the Mont-Fort lift station, follow the piste and stay left to join the South ridge of Mont-Fort. Cross over the ridge on to the South face and follow a logical line down the South Face. The face gets a lot of sun and so you should be sure about snow conditions before setting off. Often hard and icy in the early morning and dangerous on a hot afternoon. At the bottom of the face, head right and head towards the Col de la Chaux. Climb up to reach the col. From the col ski the valley towards La Chaux staying left under the Bec des Rosses - warning: avalanche risk. Be sure to stop to take in the view of this amazing face. Stay high and left to find the upper entrance to Barry's bowl and enjoy the good skiing down the North facing slopes. From here you can cut back to La Chaux or ski down across the moraine to join the off piste lines down from La Chaux to Le Chable - but be sure there is sufficient snow cover!
