Sitting on the spacious terrace with a light snack and a drink, topped off with views of the Matterhorn – what more could you ask for? On a regular basis, between Christmas and Easter, live music from bands and DJs makes Blue Lounge even more special. And on the days when the sun doesn’t shine, you can always find a cosy seat indoors. Blue Lounge is right next to Blauherd station, making it an ideal meeting point for non-skiers too.

Stellisee
Pictures of the Stellisee can be seen all over the world: hardly surprising, because the reflection of the Matterhorn on its still surface has been photographed millions of times. The panoramic views of towering peaks, well over 4,000 m high, are among the most dramatic in the Zermatt region. The lake is a 20-minute walk from the Blauherd summit station. At sunrise and sunset, especially, this is a particularly romantic spot. Fluhalp
Bergrestaurant Fluhalp, at 2606 metres, is in the middle of the skiing and hiking area of Sunnegga-Blauherd-Rothorn, which can also be reached on foot in winter. / The spacious sun terrace with a magnificent view of the Matterhorn is an open invitation to linger and enjoy your meal. During the winter season, which runs from Christmas to Easter, there is a live band and a good mood is guaranteed. Grindjisee
The Grindjisee is one of the highlights of the Five Lakes Walk. This small stretch of water with its abundance of moorland flora is a magnet for biologists and botanists and a treat for all nature lovers. The lake lies behind the former lateral moraine of a retreated glacier, and its shores offer a habitat for many rare plants. Grünsee
The water of the Grünsee (“green lake”) is indeed green, but rather cold as it is fed by the surrounding mountain springs. Geology enthusiasts will find a variety of interesting rock formations here in a former glacial landscape. Grünsee Mountain Lodge
The mountain lodge for adventures in the mountains! Our cosy lodge (formerly Berghaus Grünsee) is located at 2,300 metres above sea level in the middle of the skiing and hiking area between Gornergrat and Rothorn. In summer, the diverse Alpine flora, the Swiss stone pine forest and the nearby Grünsee lake invite guests to go on short and long explorations. The lodge is also perfectly located for cyclists and can be easily integrated into your tour. In winter, you can enjoy ski-in/ski-out access in the middle of a magnificent ski area and the freeride paradise of Gornergrat, Hohtälli and Stockhorn.

Moosjisee
The Moosjisee (also known as the Mosjesee) is an artificial reservoir. The water is used to generate electricity and for snowmaking along the pistes. Among the lake’s sources is water from the Findel Glacier, and as a result the Moosjisee has the typical milky hue of sediment-rich glacial meltwater, known as “glacial milk”. For children, this is a magical place to swim and play; for parents, a wonderful spot to relax. The views of the Matterhorn are gorgeous, framed by a pristine alpine landscape. As the lake is not deep, the water temperature is suitable for a dip, despite the altitude. The lakeshores are home to a wealth of alpine flora – and in July, to tadpoles and small frogs.
