Batong Baket Traverse Trail

Batong Baket Traverse Trail (also known as the Lakay–Baket Trail) is a 7.4 km long-distance hike in Diffun, Cagayan Valley, Philippines. It’s rated moderate, with some variability by how you choose segments and pacing.

The route starts in the Baguio Village / Ganano area and runs through forested terrain toward Batong Baket, finishing at the Batong Baket area rather than staying on a point-to-point linear walk.

A commonly used core section is the Campsite to Batong Baket Summit leg, about 1 mile with roughly 722 ft of climbing—enough elevation gain to make the approach feel sustained even when the distance is short.

Ganano Falls is frequently combined with Batong Baket hikes, so many people plan time for a detour/add-on around the Ganano area rather than treating the traverse as a single-purpose outing.

Expect a trail that sits in the “moderately challenging” band: more than an easy stroll, but not a full-on technical mountaineering day. The key hard part is the uphill effort tied to the short-but-steep summit approach.

For a longer day, there’s also a nearby endurance variation referenced as the Stone Bucket Circuit (about 7.7 miles), which keeps you in the same broader Batong Baket / Diffun hiking network.
