Camino de Gordian

Camino de Gordian is a long-distance hiking route on La Palma (Canary Islands) that descends from the high-altitude viewpoint area at Mirador de la Cumbrecita down toward the Caldera de Taburiente Visitor Centre.

The route is used as a descent through rugged terrain and is best approached as a steady down-trip rather than an easy stroll; expect multiple rough sections with short steep ups and downs even though the overall trip trends downward.

A common highlight along the way is the broad panorama over the Aridane Valley, alongside views toward the Caldera de Taburiente area (including the national-park interior).

Along the descent you pass near Ermita Virgen del Pino, which can be used as an orientation landmark if you’re tracking your progress down the route.

Typical walking time is about 2+ hours depending on pace. The way is described as well signed, but the footpath can be quite rough in places, so footwear and traction matter.

Plan for equipment that supports descents: sturdy walking boots are essential, and walking poles are strongly recommended to manage the rough, steep sections.
