Haute-Maelstrom

Haute-Maelstrom is an advanced, technical mountain bike line in the Sentiers du Moulin network near Lac-Beauport (north of Quebec City). The riding is strongly dominated by exposed granite terrain, including steep slab sections that demand precise line choice and confident braking/weight shifts on rock.

Expect sustained rock-garden style riding—natural rocky drops, rock features, and technical pacing—rather than a mellow flow. It’s also a trail that gets exceptionally slick when conditions are wet, so riders are best served by scouting key moves when it’s been damp and committing only once surface traction looks trustworthy.
