La Chouenne Trail
La Chouenne Trail is a 2.39 km hiking route in Parc national des Grands-Jardins (Charlevoix), built around a short out-and-back climb to a summit area.
The ascent is steady and relatively short, with a mix of forested hiking and rocky sections on the path.
Plan on about 1.5–2 hours for the hike, depending on pace and how long you stay at the top.
At the summit area (around 730 m), you can pause for lunch and take in wide, panoramic views over the valleys and Mont du Gros-Bras.
The route is a moderate hike and is commonly done as a day trip; it’s a good choice when you want payoff without a long backcountry day.
Best timing is summer into early fall (June through October), when the trail’s conditions and daylight fit a short climb and summit stop.
