Lindeman Lake Trail
Lindeman Lake Trail is a day-hike in Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park, running from the end of Chilliwack Lake Road to Lindeman Lake. The outing is short but it has sustained steep climbing after the Post Creek crossing, then a calmer final approach into the lake area.
The first part of the hike is an easier forest walk that follows Post Creek, then you cross a wooden bridge and the grade increases quickly. Expect sections that are steep, with roots and rocks, and some slippery/muddy footing where careful steps matter.
After you’ve done the main climb, the trail eases for roughly the last 500 m into a gentler walk before you reach Lindeman Lake. The lakeshore isn’t flat, and the route around the lake can involve uneven ground and boulder-strewn sections, especially if you push toward the northern edge.
Most hikers treat it as an out-and-back: the round-trip distance is about 3.4–3.7 km with elevation gain in the ~200–300 m range, typically taking about 1.5–2.5 hours depending on how long you stay at the lake.
The trailhead is at the south end of Chilliwack Lake Road, with a parking lot at the end of the road. The start area includes pit toilets, and the hike is signed for multiple lakes (including Post Creek, Lindeman, Greendrop, and Flora).
Seasonally, the lake is frozen and snow-covered roughly between November and April; hiking is generally done in the May–September window when the trail is snow-free. If you’re going early/late in the year, plan for icy conditions (microspikes/crampon-style traction may be needed).
You can also keep going past Lindeman Lake if you’re looking to extend the day: the route continues toward Greendrop Lake, which grows the hike to roughly 12 km round-trip. The same Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park backcountry network includes wilderness campsites on lakes reached by these connected trails, but overnighting requires the appropriate backcountry camping authorization.
