Route Details

Northside Connector is a 7.8 km bike connector in Squamish that links the Alice Lake / Highlands riding area to the Diamond Head mountain biking network. It’s built mostly from a wider gravel Forest Service Road with a largely double-track feel, so it functions as a practical XC-style link between trail systems rather than a technical singletrack ride.

Ride it in either direction, but expect climbing to vary by direction: even though it isn’t especially technical, there’s usually meaningful elevation work involved. It’s frequently used in longer loops that mix gravel/road-bike pacing with MTB descending once you’re in the Diamond Head network.

Plan your tires and cadence for gravel-road riding, not tight singletrack. Where your route crosses or approaches other popular climbs and access points (including Mashiter and Ring Creek Access Road), treat it like a busy interconnect: stay predictable around intersections and be ready for riders entering from adjacent lines.

Because this route runs on gravel road surfaces, wet weather can quickly turn it from fast to messy—before you commit, scout key junctions and the road surface, especially after rain or when conditions are damp.
