Ray Peters Trail
Route Details
Ray Peters Trail is an easy green loop ride in Brackendale, around 4.8 km (about 30–45 minutes). The route circles a community-forest area and includes a mix of wide doubletrack/gravel with some spots that have roots.
This loop is also a good place to build basic XC comfort: the grades stay mellow, and the ride can be done in either direction. The loop links up with a cluster of other trails, so if you drift onto interior branches, you still have a practical way to rejoin the main line.
For navigation and ride planning, expect the network to be easy to misread once you leave the main trail. Cross-check where you are before committing to interior spurs, especially if you’re riding to a deadline.
When wet, give the committed line extra inspection before you ride: expect traction to change on the gravel/doubletrack sections and on any rooty spots mentioned in the route descriptions, and treat the interior junctions as potential “off-route” decision points.
