Ruée vers l'Or
Ruée vers l'Or is a short singletrack climbing line in the Maelstrom sector of Sentiers du Moulin (Lac-Beauport). It’s meant for uphill riding only, serving as a purpose-built climb to get you back up for lapping the nearby downhill/freeride trails.
The climb is rated intermediate (blue) in the network’s grading, with an uphill-only direction and a moderate physical rating. Typical ride length is about 1.33 km with roughly 100 m (325 ft) of elevation gain, and it’s commonly used as an access/“lap” link rather than a descent experience.
The trail opened in 2019 and is tied to the Gold City lapping flow (use it to reach the upper zones for repeated runs). Allowed bikes include mountain bikes and Class 1 e-bikes.
Before committing, do a quick scout: check the line closely when conditions are wet or recently dried, since a short climb concentrates traction and line-choice problems into a small distance. If the surface feels slippery, consider making your first ascent a conservative one to dial in tire choice and pacing.
