Abri de Peyrebesse
Abri de Peyrebesse is an unstaffed stone shelter in the core area of Parc national des Cévennes. It’s a small shelter with a tiled roof and no door, and it includes an indoor fireplace/cheminée.
Access is straightforward: it’s at the junction of three paths between the Col des Tempêtes and the Col de l’Homme Mort. Use is free on a first-come, first-served basis (no booking), and overnighting is generally only permitted as bivouac under strict park regulations.
For resupply, a running stream for water is about 50 m away, and dead wood is available in the forest nearby. The shelter provides no sleeping places or bedding—so plan to bivouac if you need to stay the night.
