Bastidon du Pradon

Bastidon du Pradon is a free, open-access stone backcountry shelter in the Petit Luberon area, set in a cedar forest on the ridges. It’s a non-guarded stop intended for simple overnight use or sheltering in a pinch—no stove is provided, but there is a fireplace/cheminée for cooking and warmth.

Sleeping is limited: the shelter is set up for about 4 people on sleeping surfaces, and it has a small amount of interior bedding (a few mats/tapis) but no mattresses or blankets. The doorway is not secured with a key, and the shelter includes a fireplace and some old cookware. If you’re planning to sleep nearby or camp, expect fire rules and local restrictions in the Luberon area to apply; keep your use low-impact and follow local regulations.
