Big Bay Bach

Big Bay Bach is a boat-access-only wilderness bach in Mahurangi East Regional Park. It’s a secluded place on the eastern side of the peninsula, set by the beach for a straightforward “arrive by water, stay overnight” backcountry stop.

The bach sleeps up to 6 people and supports stays up to 7 nights. Facilities include power and a vault toilet (no shower). There’s a kitchen with power/refrigeration.

Reservations are handled by the Auckland Council accommodation booking system, with bookings opening six months in advance and refreshing at midnight daily. Check-in is at 2pm and check-out is at 12pm (noon). Nightly rates range from about $63 to $126 depending on season and day-of-week, with summer weekends/holidays generally higher.
