Blue Hills Warming House

Blue Hills Warming House is a backcountry warming shelter used for day-stopping and changing gear while on Blue Hills Trail activities in northern Wisconsin’s Rusk County Forest area. It’s set up as a wilderness hut (not a full lodging facility), with a furnace that runs through early December until winter disappears, plus a trail log book and seating inside.

The warming house has separate men’s and women’s pit toilets nearby, but it does not provide cell service or running water. Plan to bring what you’ll need for the time you’re out, and be self-reliant once you leave the hut area.
