Route Details

Brew Hut is a non-motorized backcountry hut operated by the UBC Varsity Outdoor Club. It has a small loft/bench sleeping setup with a quoted overnight capacity of 12-16 people and sits at about 1680 m elevation. Use is pay-to-stay (fee $15 per person per night), and no reservations are taken; use is coordinated through the hut registration process.

The hut is secured (unlocked) and equipped with a wood stove and solar LED lighting, plus an outhouse just NE of the hut. Campfires are prohibited at all VOC huts, and firewood use is intended to be conservative—there is a wood stove (not a summer-only fire). Drinking water comes from a seasonal pond, but only the pond on the west side should be used because of where the outhouse is located.
