Burdette Cabin
Route Details
Burdette Cabin is a backcountry wilderness hut in Burdette Valley near Atlin, managed by the Atlin Alpine Society. It’s rented as a single unit and used year-round for both summer hiking and winter recreation via season-specific access routes.
Capacity is 6 people maximum (with a minimum of 2 people per booking). The cabin is a single-unit rental, and stays have a minimum of 2 nights and a maximum of 7 consecutive nights per group.
The booking process is first-come, first-served. Full payment is required at the time of reservation, and there are no refunds or credits.
Rules are strict: dogs are not allowed at the cabin, and hunting is not allowed from the cabin. No pets/party restrictions beyond these are not confirmed in the provided material.
Operational amenities include a gas stove for heat, a propane cooktop, a sink, an outhouse, and an electric fence intended to keep bears and porcupines out. The hut is stocked with cooking items (dishes/utensils/pots and pans), a coffee press, and includes fuel in the price; it also has games, books, and binoculars. The sleeping area is in an upstairs loft.
Access depends on season. In summer, the shortest access route requires a high-clearance vehicle to reach the trailhead; in winter, the shortest access requires a skidoo to reach part of the way, and you must park at the “no motorized vehicle beyond this point” sign and ski/snowshoe the rest of the approach.
For schedules: winter bookings open Jan. 1 at 12:00 noon Yukon time for non-locals (and Dec. 1 at 12:00 noon Yukon time for Atlin locals), and summer bookings open May 15 at 12:00 noon Yukon time for non-locals (and April 15 at 12:00 noon Yukon time for Atlin locals).
Pricing for the cabin is $125 per night for a minimum 2-person booking (group total).
