Alpine hutCamp Mike Urich is a backcountry shelter in the NPWA network, built as a basic wood cabin with two levels and set at about 1,441 m elevation. It’s a shelter on Pacific Crest Trail use, with a wood stove inside and a loft accessed by a ladder; there are also two outhouses a few yards away.
The cabin is maintained by the Sno-Jammers Snowmobile Club and is used as a stop/rest option for Pacific Crest Trail through-hikers. Use is free and no reservation is required; there’s no shower provided. The cabin area can get loud from nearby overnight activity and people talking or singing.
